Alice in Wonderland

Book Review Alice in Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll (1865)   This week I read Alice in Wonderland. This book is fiction. I like this story because it made me fun and I wanted to keep reading. I wrote down three quotes and will discuss them. The first one is “’I’m in the sea! ‘ she thought. But it wasn’t the sea. The water was her tears.” (p.6) In this scene, Alice repeated smaller and bigger. The second one is “’You see, I’m not me now’” (p.13) I like this scene because I don’t know myself like Alice, too. I sympathized. The last one is “’Let’s go home to tea’” (p.37) I like this scene because she could be in real world.   I want to recommend this book. There are several reasons. First, I didn’t know this story well. So I was lucky to read original in English. Second, I felt like I seemed to be in this story. About the language difficulty –it was easy to read but a longer book. I give this book 5 stars out of 10.

How to be an Alien

Book Review How to be an Alien, by Nicolas Bentley (1946)   This week I read How to be an Alien. This book is an essay. I liked this story because it was fun to read. I wrote down three quotes and will discuss them. The first one is “You must understand that when people say ‘England’, hey sometimes mean ‘Great Britain’ (England, Scotland and Wales), sometimes ‘the United Kingdom’ (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland), sometimes the ‘British Isles’ (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland) – but never just England.” (p.3) I like this sentence because I didn’t know that. It’s interesting. The second one is “In England people are rude in a very different. If somebody tells you an untrue story, in Europe you say, ‘You are a liar, sir.’ In England you just say, ‘Oh, is that so?’ Or, ‘That’s quite an unusual story, isn’t it?’” (p.17) I thought England people was interesting and difficult. In England people do not often get excited. They do n

Emma

Book Review Emma, by Jane Austen (1816)   This week I read Emma. This book is a romance fiction. I liked this story because this story made me fun and I wanted to love with someone.   I wrote down three quotes and will discuss them. The first one is Mr. Knightley said, “She is your equal, Emma. She is not rich and clever like you and I was ashamed of you for speaking to her like that. And it was worse because you said it in front of other people. Badly gone, Emma. Very badly gone.” (p.42) In this scene, Emma felt angry with herself and ashamed what she did to Miss Bates. And she thought she must change herself. She decided to grow up. The second one is “Dear Emma, time will help you forget him.” (p.49) I like this sentence because the way of thinking has never changed: Time will heal everything. The last one is “She thought it sounded very plain and was nothing compared to her own wedding.” (p.55) I thought comparing something was bad way of thinking, too. I want to recom

Zombies in Tokyo

イメージ
Today, I want to introduce this book. I read "Zombies in Tokyo". We need to choose which we want to read to create a story. This story is about a zombie attack in Tokyo. We will fight the zombies or try to escape. One day, something is different. The streets are quiet. There are no people. No cars. Nothing. Suddenly, a man runs by. He is running toward the train station. A woman is lying on the ground outside the station. She is not moving. Someone shouts. You look up. Three people are waving at you from across the street. I chose "DO YOU GO ACROSS THE STREET?" to meet a young family. We escape. The four of me get off the bikes and run behind some trees. A group of zombies walk by. They don't see you. A few minutes later, they are gone. I chose "OR DO YOU WAIT LONGER?" "From his bag, he pulls out two lunch boxes and two bottles of water." I was wondering why they were relaxed😂 It's like a picnic. And then, father think where w
