 This week I read "One-way Ticket". This book consists of three short stories. 1.   The Girl with Green Eyes 2.   South for the Winter 3.   Mr Harris and the Night Train Today, I introduce "The Girl with Green Eyes". Julie is on the train with her husband Bill for a vacation. Bill is talking endlessly with the brown hat-wearing person sitting opposite him. Julie, who is on her way to a place she doesn't want to go, is dumbfounded by her boring husband who keeps talking about the same thing. Across from her, a tall man in an expensive suit was reading a newspaper. Julie reads the page that is directed at her without thinking. For some reason, his eyes were smiling at Julie as they looked over the newspaper several times. Thank you💖 One-Way Ticket.  This week I read "A Christmas Carol". Scrooge, a stingy and unlikable old man, meets four ghosts on Christmas Eve. When he wakes up on Christmas morning, Scrooge regains his conscience and is hailed as a kind man by the whole town. This book is interesting. And this book is not so short. I think it's perfect for a lot of reading.  This week I read "Supermodels". There are many models in this book. You can learn about the characteristics of these old supermodels, why they are famous, and their lives. We learn that these supermodels, who look so radiant to us, had many problems with their appearance. We learned that they were suffering from diseases caused by being too thin. I learned that the clerks in the clothing stores looked very shiny, but when they actually worked, they were very plain. This book is easy to read. This week, I read New Yorkers. This book consists of 5 short stories. 1.   The Christmas Presents 2.   Soapy's Choice 3.   A Walk in Amnesia 4.   Tildy's Moment 5.   The Memento I'm going to introduce "The Christmas Presents". Jim and Della, a young married couple, live in poverty but get along well with each other. On the day before Christmas, Della is worried that she doesn't have enough money to buy Jim a present, and finally decides to sell her long hair, her most prized possession. With the money in exchange for the hair, Della finds the perfect chain for Jim's prized pocket watch and gives it to him as a gift. When Jim comes home that night and sees Della's shortened hair, he is stunned. Jim had sold his prized gold watch and bought a comb set for Della as a gift.
